Established with funding from The California Wellness Foundation in 1995, the Center for Health Improvement today is an independent, national, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping public, private, and nonprofit clients enhance their capacity to effect change aimed at improving health care and public health.

Our offices are located close to the State Capitol in the heart of midtown Sacramento. With a collaborative and problem-solving approach, CHI maintains a stimulating and high-performance environment that’s both productive and fun.

Compensation & Benefits

CHI offers a competitive compensation package. Salaries are based on background and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid time off; and retirement benefits.

Medical Benefits

Eligible employees may choose to enroll in one of a range of Kaiser Permanente or Western Health Advantage plans. CHI pays the entire premium for the least-cost alternative for the employee.

Dental Benefits

Eligible employees may enroll in the Premier Access Dental Plan. CHI pays one-half of the premium for the employee.

Vision Benefits

Eligible employees may enroll in Vision Service Plan (VSP). CHI pays the entire premium for the employee.

Life Insurance

Eligible employees are enrolled automatically in a life insurance plan that pays out the equivalent of double their annual salaries. CHI pays the entire premium for this insurance.

Annuity Plan

CHI provides a 403(b) retirement plan for eligible employees after six months of employment, to which CHI contributes 10% of an employee’s annual salary.

Personal Time Off

Eligible employees accrue personal time off, which may be used after six months of employment.

Holidays

CHI observes 11 paid holidays throughout the year.
